Description:

Hi my name is Monarch and I am a very lucky lady.  I was lost out in the cold with a crushed leg hoping to find a friend to help me.  Some good people found me in February and got me to the rescue and medical care. The vet said I was just as sweet as could be even though I was in pain. I was just so happy to be found and in a nice warm place with good people to care for me. 

Unfortunately my leg could not be saved and while in surgery I had some tumors removed from my tummy.  They also discovered I was heartworm positive and a little hard of hearing.  I have had my heartworm treatment and doing very well now and weigh approximately 16 lbs.  In spite of everything, I am hopeful about life and looking for a nice relaxing home and someone special to enjoy my retirement with.  

Maybe a senior person or a couple who may be a little lonely and need some loving like I do.  Don’t worry about the grand-kids, I love them too. I get around rather well; I’m smart and cuddly and I always have one ear up ad one ear down.  I look so cute. 

Although I’m not a youngster, I still have lots of life and love in me, so if you would consider an older dog, please inquire about me, I will make your life a little brighter.

I will try to be at the Utica PetSmart Adoption Center on Hall Road, east of Van Dyke when we are there. Email or call if you are making a trip and we'll try to make sure I'm at the store. Maybe we could set up a special appointment for you to meet me!

We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.

 

Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.

 

Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
